Courier | Part Time

Job Summary

Gritman Medical Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Courier to join our Courier Services team. This position is responsible for driving a hospital vehicle to transport various items, including specimens, supplies, instruments, cash bags, documents, and other goods, to and from Gritman facilities and clinics on and off-campus.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Follow the daily schedule to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
• Handle and transport specimens and biohazardous materials safely using appropriate protective equipment.
• Navigate to multiple locations using an electronic map or provided instructions.
• Maintain documentation for deliveries and pickups as required.
• Safely operate a vehicle in all weather conditions.
  
  

Licenses/Certifications

Job Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and maintain throughout employment.
• Must possess valid vehicle insurance at the time of hire and maintain throughout employment.
  
  

Experience

• Experience following a daily schedule is preferred.
• Familiarity with driving in diverse weather conditions is preferred.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to use electronic maps for locating addresses is preferred.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Frequent lifting of items up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting up to 60 lbs (with assistance as needed).
• Occasional pushing/pulling carts up to 60 lbs.
• Sitting/driving for up to 2 hours at a time.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasional stair climbing.
  
  

Environmental Conditions

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, wind, rain, hail, snow, frost, and ice).
• Gloves must be worn during specimen transfers and while handling biohazardous materials.
