Position Title: Overnight Security Officer
Reports To: Hotel General Manager
JOB OVERVIEW
Delamar Southport & Westport, luxury boutique hotels, are seeking professional and attentive Overnight Security Officers to ensure the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property. The ideal candidate will maintain a calm and professional demeanor in all situations, follow hotel safety protocols, and respond promptly to incidents or emergencies.
In direct coordination with the General Manager, he/she is fully versed and applies all GHG Fire, Life, Health and Safety protocols. The Security officer responds to immediate security incidents, emergencies, and disturbances but also identify potential security risks and coordinates with the hotel executive team and the Police department (if applicable) on a timely fashion.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Protecting personnel, property, and assets.
- Ensuring the safety of individuals and preventing unauthorized access.
- Monitoring surveillance equipment and responding to alarms.
- Patrolling premises to deter criminal activity and enforce rules.
- Directing traffic and controlling access points (banquets/events/City events when applicable). Identifying potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Developing and implementing security measures to mitigate risks.
- Conducting thorough investigations and reporting suspicious activity to management in a timely manner.
- Enforcing company security policies and legal protocols.
- Maintaining detailed logs of security activities and incidents.
- Preparing incident reports and submitting them to the appropriate authorities
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Greeting employees or customers, assisting with luggage / car service when necessary.
- Providing assistance to people in need.
- Performing first aid or CPR in emergency situations.
- Weekly spot checks on Employees entrance.
Shift: 11:00PM-7:00AM
Schedule: Full-time
- 8 hour shift
- Holidays
- Overnight shift
- Weekends are required
Work Location: In person
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Strong Observational Skills: The ability to notice and report suspicious behavior or activities.
- Communication Skills: Clearly and concisely communicating information to others, including incident reports and instructions.
- Conflict Resolution Skills: De-escalating tense situations and resolving disputes peacefully.
- Physical Fitness: Being able to patrol premises and respond to emergencies.
- Knowledge of Security Procedures: Understanding and adhering to security protocols, policies, and legal regulations, FLHSSE.
- Excellent presentation matching a luxury hotel environment.
