GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Mathematics Department in the School of Arts & Sciences at Greenville Technical College invites applications for Instructors/Assistant Professor of Mathematics positions.
The Department of Mathematics at Greenville Technical College averages more than 2,300 students per semester and currently employs 16 full-time and 12 part-time mathematics and statistics faculty. We offer a wide range of mathematics and statistics courses in order to support the needs of a variety of programs throughout the college: Quantitative Reasoning, Probability and Statistics, Advanced Statistics, Math for Elementary Education, College Algebra, College Trigonometry, Business Calculus I and II, Analytic Geometry, Calculus I, II, and III, and Differential Equations.
The mission of the Department is to prepare virtually every degree-seeking student at the college to use math effectively in their chosen field or to transfer for a baccalaureate degree. Math courses are offered in both traditional and online formats.
Duties may include any or all of the following:
- Teach Mathematics courses
- Prepare lectures/syllabi/tests
- Grade/assess student work
- Develop/implement new classroom strategies
- Consult with students
- Advise on academic progress
- Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Doctorate or a Master's degree with a major in Mathematics OR a Doctorate or a Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Have the ability to work with colleagues/students and to convey knowledge in a form that students can understand. * Adaptable to students' needs, to different teaching situations, and be able to motivate students. * Able to work in teams and independently. * Experience teaching Probability and Statistics at the college level.
