Summary:
The Residence Hall Director is a live-in staff member for an all women's residence hall, who provides leadership and development of undergraduate students; manages the administration and maintenance of buildings and real property; and resolves student conflicts, including resolution of student concerns and discipline procedures related to violations of the student code of conduct.
Responsibilities:
- Select, train, supervise and evaluate 3-8, undergraduate Resident Advisors, provide feedback and document performance
- Oversee residence hall programming development and implementation to meet the goals and mission of the office of Residence Life and Greensboro College
- Document all maintenance concerns for assigned building and follow-up on timely correction
- Enforce disciplinary procedures for residential students and apply appropriate educational sanctions and/or fines for violations of the student code of conduct
- Inspect residence hall rooms and common area according to established schedule
- Serve office hours in residence life and be able to perform office procedures
- Manage student conflict
- Understand and follow all Greensboro College emergency procedures and protocols, and serve in an on-call duty rotation, which may include evening cover of Campbell Student Center
- Inform residents of College procedures, residence hall expectations and closing dates
- Document key inventory, resident rosters, maintenance requests
- Model appropriate professional behavior and uphold all Greensboro College policies both on and off duty
Qualifications:
- Earned bachelors degree
- Relevant work experience in student development and residence life preferred
