Position Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, facilities, and mechanical systems at a water/wastewater treatment facility. Previous wastewater experience is not required. Candidates with industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, building maintenance, mechanical repair, plumbing, welding, HVAC, or related hands-on maintenance backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance, mechanical repair, facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, building maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, welding, fabrication, or related hands-on experience
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
Preferred:
- Trade school or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, welding, fabrication, or related fields
- Experience maintaining equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, compressors, generators, engines, or similar mechanical equipment
- Welding and metal fabrication experience
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, utility, municipal, or facility maintenance environments
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buildings, structures, grounds, machinery, and equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and facility systems
- Lubricate equipment and perform routine inspections to identify potential issues
- Replace bearings, seals, packing, and other wear components on mechanical equipment
- Assist with maintenance and repair of motors, pumps, valves, engines, and related systems
- Analyze equipment failures and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurring problems
- Install, set up, and assist with commissioning of new equipment
- Perform plumbing, pipefitting, and general mechanical repair tasks as needed
- Use welding and cutting equipment to fabricate, modify, and repair equipment and components
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders
- Communicate maintenance findings and recommendations to supervisors and operations personnel
- Follow all safety policies and procedures while working on equipment and facility systems
