Contract to Hire , ideally full time hire after 3-4 months.
Summary
Carpenter needed for hands-on work in commercial environments such as office buildings, retail spaces, schools, and industrial facilities. This role focuses on building, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures while meeting project specs, timelines, and safety standards.
Responsibilities
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specs
• Measure, cut, and assemble wood, metal, and other materials
• Install framing, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and cabinetry
• Build and install partitions, counters, shelving, and fixtures
• Ensure all work meets local building codes and safety standards
• Work alongside project teams and other trades on-site
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair existing structures as needed
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
• Follow all site safety procedures at all times
Requirements
• Experience in carpentry, ideally in commercial construction
• Strong knowledge of carpentry methods and materials
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
• Understanding of building codes and OSHA safety practices
• Physically able to lift materials and work on active job sites
• Solid attention to detail and workmanship
• Reliable communication and teamwork skills
Nice to Have
• Carpentry apprenticeship or trade school training
• OSHA 10 or 30 (or willingness to obtain after hire)
• Experience with metal stud framing and drywall
• Background working on commercial job sites
Work Environment
• Active construction sites (indoor and outdoor)
• May involve heights, confined spaces, and varying weather
• Regular lifting, standing, and physical work
