What are the responsibilities and job description for the Permit Coordinator position at Greenlight Networks?
Job Summary:
The Permit Coordinator will handle the creation, submittal, tracking, and acquisition of Right-of-Way Permits to support the construction of Fiber Optic network facilities. This position ensures compliance with Municipal, State, County and any other permitting regulations to support Engineering and Construction teams’ goal of timely delivery of fiber deployments.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for fiber construction within regulated right of way.
- Coordinate with Municipalities, County and State DOTs, Railroad Operators, and any other permitting authorities to acquire approved permit in a timely manner.
- Review Design and Construction plans to confirm compliance with potential permitting requirements.
- Provide regular updates to OSP Engineers and Construction Coordinators on permitting status.
- Maintain accurate records of permit applications, fees, and approvals.
- Stay informed of changes in permitting regulations affecting fiber deployment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Previous experience in right of way permitting required.
- Experience with fiber optic or other utility construction within the Public ROW preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple permits with varying timelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with Sitetracker/Salesforce, or comparable project tracking tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with permitting authorities.
Other Requirements:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in regulatory compliance or permitting.
Compensation:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The hourly pay range for this position is $28/hr - $36/hr. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
