Job Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for maintaining the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including onboarding, benefits and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open internal positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for internal openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Implements new hire orientation for internal and external employees.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits and leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, and occupational health and safety.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
- Associates Degree required or minimum of 2 years Human Resources experience.
- Sensitivity to confidential matters
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with, or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
- Appearance is professional and in compliance with Blossom’s dress code.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, pull, climb, reach, and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities.
- Pass a physical examination and immunization requirements after being offered employment and complete a health assessment annually, thereafter, including being fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and to have received any booster or supplemental dose as recommended by the CDC, absent receipt of a medical exemption.
- Possess a current, valid New York State driver’s license and a reliable vehicle.
- Completion of Blossom's orientation program.
