Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting salary for this position range is between $20.00 - $26.00 an hour. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. What You’ll Do
- Support the construction and installation of underground fiber networks serving residential and commercial customers
- Assist with jobsite setup, preparation, and cleanup working as part of a collaborative team
- Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment
- Perform physical tasks such as digging, lifting, trenching, and material handling
- Operate hand and power tools safely under supervision
- Assist with hydro-vac operations for potholing and site cleanup
- Safely operate pickup trucks or larger vehicles, including towing trailers
- Help maintain equipment and ensure tools are job-ready
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe, team-focused work environment
- Work closely with crew members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently
- Strong ability to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
- A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and the ability to maintain insurability under the company's auto policy are essential.
- CDL-A preferred but not required
- Comfortable traveling and working on different job sites
- Ability to travel out of state as needed (approximately 50%)
- Ability to be on call when required
- 3 years of experience in an outdoor construction role preferred
- Experience operating or assisting with heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, directional drills) strongly preferred
- Previous experience working in outdoor environment year round
