What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Laborer position at OPP Excavating and Construction?
Overview
Opp excavating and construction is looking to hire experienced Laborers/field workers. We are a solid family like owner operated business; we are founded on Respect. As we grow, we are looking for people who are dependable, hard-working, willing to learn, shows up on time, comfortable working outdoors, and willing to put the hours in with a good attitude. We work on many different projects throughout the year, with our focuses being, Concrete, Paving, Septic, Water & Sewer, Retaining walls, Site work, and Storm drainage.
Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation, including clearing and organizing materials for upcoming work
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks such as moving materials, equipment, and supplies safely and efficiently
- Operate power tools and hand tools
- Aid in rebar installation, concrete finishing, and concrete pumping operations to ensure structural integrity
- Support heavy equipment operation and site safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment Qualifications
- Prior experience working on construction sites or in related roles is required
- Ability to be coachable and understand communication
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic machinery used in construction activities
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and performing physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines such as concrete, drainage, utilities, asphalt, general construction projects
- Valid driver’s license is a requirement
- Basic OSHA safety knowledge is required
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
