Power & Construction Group, Inc. has an opening for a Laborer with the Signalization Division!
Salary Range: $22-$26/hr. plus prevailing wage opportunities
Location: Rochester, NY
Position Summary:
As a Laborer, you will support the Signalization Division in the installation, maintenance, and repair of traffic signal systems and highway lighting. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for individuals who are reliable, safety-conscious, and eager to learn and grow within the electrical construction trade.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation of conduit, wiring, and signal equipment under supervision
- Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment at job sites
- Support the setup and takedown of temporary traffic control systems (signage, cones, etc.)
- Prepare worksites by digging trenches, placing foundations, or setting poles
- Help install signal heads, streetlights, cameras, and other infrastructure
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Work in proximity to hazardous equipment and energized systems under guidance
- Perform basic tasks from ladders or bucket trucks (with training and supervision)
- Participate in training opportunities related to safety and electrical systems
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
- Previous experience in construction, electrical, or roadway work a plus
- Willingness and ability to perform physically demanding labor in all weather conditions
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn on the job
- Availability to work standard hours (typically 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), with potential for overtime, night work, and occasional travel
- Commitment to safety protocols and on-site discipline
- OSHA-10 certification strongly preferred
