Dispatcher

Summary:

Coordinate shipping of all finished goods. Provide status to customers for shipping times and product availability works directly with warehouse associate, truck drivers and sales team to provide complete customer service, support all quality, food safety and cold chain requirements.

Dispatcher works effectively in a team environment with production and all department. Reports to Logistics Supervisor.      

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the loading of trucks with the warehouse personnel. Schedules and monitors the loading sequence of raw and finished goods product according to truck arrival.
• Verifies entries and amounts of product being shipped by order.  Enters the amounts of product information into the NAV system accurately and in a timely basis.
• Coordinates with Shipping, Receiving, Production and Sales Department personnel.
• Prepares paperwork for outbound shipments.
• Works to complete customer portal commitments (IEH lab Costco and Costco supplier)
• Oversees temp recorder applications for specific customers.
• Resolve issues with appropriate personnel.
• Verify accuracy for all shipments.
• Answer Phones.

• Study shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Works closely with Production and Sales Department to ensure customer specifications are met.
• Coordinate work assignments, monitor employee performance and provide training on job duties, company policies and procedures.
• Utilize work method programs for training and education to motivate employees to improve performance and quality of work.  Develop improved performance of employees through feedback and coaching.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to ensure an efficient and steady flow of information.
• Other duties will be assigned by supervisor

Education/Licenses/Certification/ Formal Training:

• HS Diploma and secondary school preferred

Experience Required:

• 0-1 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment preferably as a dispatcher or related position.
• Directly related experience in the produce industry highly preferred. 
• Computer applications (ERP), NAV, Microsoft Excel and Word.

Essential Abilities:

• Calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
•  Good verbal and written communication skills.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
• Must have effective organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
• Intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel skills required.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint required.
• Must have ability to use or learn the NAV computer system.
• Must have personal integrity, flexibility, dependability, ability to work within policy guidelines and to work independently.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
• Travel to Yuma, AZ & Salinas, CA – a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged sitting and terminal use.
• Flexibility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time as needed.
• May be required to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
• Hand dexterity and strength.

Work Environment:

• Work to be performed in varied environments: indoors in a climate-controlled environment, refrigerated cooler production facility, shipping and receiving warehouse, and outdoors is varied weather as needed.
