Our client, a premier development, investment, and operating company focused on the North American power and energy infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced, senior tax counsel to join its private equity legal team as a VP/SVP and Senior Tax Counsel, providing tax structuring advice and managing the tax aspects of M&A and financings and advising on various strategic matters impacting the business.
Candidates MUST have at least 10 years of transactional tax experience from a top law firm and/or in-house, ideally with renewables and tax equity experience, including how tax incentives and financing structures impact project economics and investment decisions. Reporting to the Managing Director and Senior Tax Counsel, this hire will provide tax counsel and advice on all of the company’s transactions and investments.
This role offers significant exposure to complex, high‑impact transactions and the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership. This newly created role is a growth opportunity as ideally this new hire will succeed the current Managing Director and Senior Tax Counsel.
Compensation will consist of a base of $350,000 to $450,000, depending on level of experience, as well as a discretionary, performance based annual bonus and a full suite of benefits, including healthcare that is 100% paid for by the company.
Hours are manageable and reasonable and the in-office requirement is 3 days a week in the midtown Manhattan office although the culture dictates being in the office 4-5 days a week.
