A leading energy and infrastructure investor is seeking an energy M&A/ private equity deal-focused attorney with at least 6 years of experience to join its growing private equity legal team. This is a high-impact, hands-on, high-visibility role working directly with investment professionals on the firm's most consequential and complex transactions, and not just managing outside counsel from a distance, but owning deals alongside the investment team from origination through close.
Reporting to the GC of Private Equity, you will lead and execute M&A, project finance, acquisition finance, structured and tax equity transactions; draft and negotiate key deal documents; and advise on structuring, risk and execution strategy. The role also includes: supporting fund formation and investor matters; managing diligence; and coordinating across internal teams and outside counsel.
The ideal candidate brings a minimum of 6–12 years of M&A/private equity transactional experience with strong exposure to energy and infrastructure deals, a track record of leading complex transactions, and familiarity with project finance and investment structures from a top law firm. Fund formation or tax equity experience is a plus. In-house experience is also a plus but not required. Lawyers from leading energy and infrastructure practices at major law firms will be considered.

Compensation: $250K–$300K base bonus fully paid benefits; potential carry in the future
Location: Midtown Manhattan (hybrid, 3–4 days in office)
