What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive/Equipment Technician position at Greene County Board of Commissioners?
The full performance level class works under general supervision & requires considerable knowledge of auto mechanics in order to repair & replace major parts or systems on vehicles & equipment.
Normal Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 7:00am to 3:00pm
Posted until filled.
Operates scanning equipment; ability to update the software and diagnose trouble codes, interpret results, and perform repairs. Installs and repairs emergency equipment for law enforcement vehicles.
Performs others duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for the education and/or experience required. Education and Experience may not be substituted for mandated licensure/certification.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Air Conditioning Certificate *
Refrigerant Recovery & Recycling Certification*
*Must obtain within six (6) months of hire and maintain.
Predictable and regular attendance is required.
Travel may be required.
May be exposed to inclement weather. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, intense noises, and travel.
Stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
