What You Will Do
- Oversee all physical plant operations within the community
- Plan, direct, and evaluate engineering, maintenance, and safety activities in compliance with all applicable regulations
- Manage and execute work order systems and preventative maintenance programs
- Monitor building and grounds; plan for maintenance, repairs, supplies, and equipment needs
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, vendors, and contractors as needed
- Administer the community Risk Management Plan
- Direct departmental projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards
- Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and job descriptions
- Train and orient team members on policies and procedures
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and staffing plans
- Ensure effective use of financial resources
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for supervising and directing the Engineering team. The role requires independent judgment and strong leadership skills.
Why You Are Qualified
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in physical plant operations (senior living or related environment preferred)
- Experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems required
- EPA Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months) required
- Strong working knowledge of machinery, tools, and repair techniques
- Experience with fire panels, emergency systems, phone systems, and disaster preparedness
- Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 25 lbs
