Position Summary
Green Truck Budtenders are more than retail associates—they’re frontline ambassadors of our brand, values, and cannabis expertise. We’re looking for individuals who are team-oriented, accountable, detail-focused, adaptable, and eager to learn.
Budtenders are responsible for verifying customer IDs, fulfilling orders, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring compliance with Maine cannabis regulations. They also play a key role in customer education, store cleanliness, and keeping product listings up to date.
Success in this role requires professionalism, strong communication, initiative, and a collaborative spirit. Budtenders are expected to support team goals, embrace new processes, and consistently uphold the standards that make Green Truck a trusted, welcoming, and compliant place to shop and work.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow directives from the Retail Store Manager and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace to support compliance standards, ensure operational efficiency, and uphold a professional, customer-ready environment.
- Verify customer IDs and medical certifications (if applicable) in full compliance with Maine cannabis regulations.
- Ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders, whether placed online, by phone, through Weedmaps, or in store.
- Accurately apply discounts and promotions in the POS system and ensure all sales transactions are properly recorded and reconciled.
- Support consistent restocking of shelves and backstock areas and proactively report low or depleted stock to ensure product availability.
- Assist with regular inventory counts, ensure stock is organized and labeled correctly.
- Ensure product listings on Weedmaps are accurate and up to date, and promptly report any discrepancies or changes.
- Support visual merchandising efforts by maintaining clean, organized, and visually appealing product displays that reflect brand standards.
- Answer phone calls and customer inquiries with clarity, consistency, and a professional tone.
- Educate customers on cannabis products by sharing knowledge of strains, product types, consistencies, effects, and potential medicinal benefits.
- Assist with packaging, labeling, and other production-related tasks as needed to support daily operations.
- Support team productivity and broader organizational goals by completing additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience in a high-volume retail environment. Experience in cannabis retail is preferred but not required. Familiarity with METRC, cannabis compliance procedures, and Maine cannabis laws is strongly preferred.
Technical Proficiency Candidates should be comfortable using point-of-sale systems (such as Flowhub), inventory tracking tools like METRC, and digital platforms including Weedmaps, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. A strong attention to detail and ability to learn new systems quickly is essential.
Physical, Availability & Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid government-issued ID
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
- Must meet all requirements for valid RIC and IIC identification cards issued by the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely
- Comfortable working in environments with strong cannabis odors, kief, and standard cleaning products
- Must have open availability during store operating hours, including evenings, weekends, and designated holidays
- Required to sign an employment agreement that includes confidentiality and non-compete provisions
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Pay Starting at $17–$20 per hour, based on experience and performance. Compensation increases are considered during each employee’s annual performance review.
Benefits All team members are eligible for a variety of benefits and incentives. Health insurance benefits are available to full-time employees regularly scheduled for 32 hours or more per week.
