What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Specialist position at Green Source Automation?
Position Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is expected to document, process, and record incoming and outgoing materials. Monitor inventory levels, identify stock overages, shortages and respond appropriately. Manage the organization of materials and tooling so high usage items are most accessible. Operate in a support role to the office, shop, and field. Conduct operations professionally and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifies low stock items, and reports information to the Procurement Manager.
- Works with procurement team to return over-purchased or defective materials to vendors.
- Processes received shipment information against BOL, invoices, PO, and other records.
- Records shipment contents upon receipt into NetSuite against PO.
- Picks sales orders, transfer orders and work orders for stock and IAP requests as well as for installations and stock needs
- Packages and ships products to ensure accuracy and quality of the order.
- Notifies shop locations, technicians and managers of outgoing shipments, with ETA and status of backorders.
- Processes and packages product returns.
- Checks in returned inventory from field team, customers, and vendors.
- Manages and processes backorders.
- Operates machinery such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Manages and maintains relationships with logistic companies.
- Inspects and handles damages/shortages/overages in shipments received
- Communicates receiving discrepancies with the procurement manager.
- Performs the first quality control inspection upon receipt of product.
- Identifies and reports part number issues to the inventory and assembly manager.
- Assists in other projects as needed or assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the warehouse as necessary to perform job duties.
- Quotes and ships domestic international LTL, truckload, air, and sea shipment
- Picks up and delivers parts to customers and vendors.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
