Position Overview:
This is a full-time on-site role for a Grounds Crew Member located in Maxwell, NE. We are looking for a hardworking and detail-oriented Grounds Crew Member to join our maintenance team. This role includes outdoor work in all seasons and requires someone who can perform physical tasks with professionalism and respect for the veterans we serve. The role involves physical outdoor work and collaboration with team members to ensure well-maintained and visually appealing properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cemetery grounds, including mowing, trimming, edging, raking, and leaf removal
- Assist with grave preparation and site setup under supervision
- Carry out landscaping tasks such as planting, mulching, pruning, and watering
- Ensure roadways, walkways, and common areas remain clean, safe, and presentable
- Operate equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, utility vehicles, and small tools
- Aid in snow removal when needed
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a professional, respectful demeanor
- Support funeral services, memorial events, and special veteran ceremonies
Qualifications:
- Prior groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience preferred (willing to train)
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable with physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to honoring veterans and their families
