Grounds Team Member

Position Summary:

The Grounds Team Member is responsible for the maintenance, care, and preparation of the sports fields, indoor/outdoor facilities, and surrounding grounds. The role ensures that the fields and complex are safe, aesthetically pleasing, and ready for use by athletes and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain playing fields for scheduled events.
• Perform minor repairs and report larger maintenance issues to the manager.
• Remove debris, trash, and litter from fields and surrounding areas.
• Inspect fields and facilities for hazards or damage and address issues promptly.
• Follow safety protocols when using tools and equipment.
• Set up and break down equipment for games, tournaments, and special events.
• Assist with crowd control or parking lot management, as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred or pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or sports field management is preferred.
• Ability to operate groundskeeping tools and equipment safely.
• Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Availability to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the event schedule.

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of a background check is required.

• Must be eligible to work in environments where minors are present.

Working Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may become escalated at times.
