Senior Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist

We’re recruiting for a growing industrial manufacturing company in San Marcos, Texas, seeking a Senior Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist to support its commercial purchasing and supply operations. This position will coordinate supplier activity, purchasing documentation, material shipments, commercial reporting, and cross-functional communication between buyers, accounting, logistics, warehouse, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

Commercial Operations

• Deliver ongoing administrative and operational assistance to the commercial team.
• Support buyers with new supplier setup, required documentation, pricing inquiries, and account maintenance.
• Draft and process purchase orders, commercial agreements, contracts, and other transaction-related materials.
• Ensure supplier and customer information remains current and accurate across internal systems.
• Facilitate communication between suppliers and internal departments involved in purchasing transactions.
• Assist with commercial projects, process initiatives, and other assignments directed by leadership.

Supply and Purchasing Coordination

• Track the movement of purchased materials and coordinate inbound shipments with logistics and warehouse personnel.
• Monitor supplier deliveries and verify that all supporting paperwork is complete and properly recorded.
• Contribute to forecasts related to material availability and future purchasing requirements.
• Compile and maintain reporting on purchased volumes, pricing activity, and commercial margins.
• Research and help resolve differences involving shipments, invoices, receiving records, or purchasing documentation.

Reporting and Analysis

• Develop recurring weekly and monthly reports covering commercial activity and performance.
• Review purchasing patterns, supplier performance, and key operational data.
• Track key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Maintain organized pricing records, commercial databases, and supporting transaction information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, finance, accounting, logistics, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Three or more years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply-chain coordination, commercial operations, materials management, or a related function.
• Experience preparing and managing purchase orders, supplier documentation, contracts, invoices, or other commercial records.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, analyze, and report on purchasing and operational data.
• Experience working with an ERP, inventory-management, purchasing, or accounting system.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams, including accounting, logistics, warehouse, and operations personnel.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions, deadlines, and competing priorities.
