What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front of House Associates position at Green Glow Dispensary?
Job Overview
Front of house associates are the heart of Green Glow. This is a fully cross-trained role: one day you’re guiding a first-time customer through their options at the sales counter, the next you’re running reception and customer intake, fulfilling online orders, or helping the inventory team with an audit and restock. You’ll learn every front-of-house function in the store — which makes this the best possible launchpad for a career in regulated cannabis retail. We’re looking for people who treat every ID check like it matters (because it does), every customer like a regular, and every task like it’s going in front of an inspector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide knowledgeable, welcoming service at the sales counter, guiding customers and medical patients to appropriate products
- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge through company-provided training, and recommend complementary items to enhance the customer experience
- Communicate current promotions and deals and enroll interested customers in the store loyalty program at check-in and point of sale
- Staff reception: greet customers, verify IDs, and manage customer intake and check-in
- Process transactions accurately in the POS, including proper product handling and labeling verification
- Assist with online order fulfillment, staging, and pickup handoff
- Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and sales floor restock
- Maintain store cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the shift, including assigned cleaning tasks
- Support medical patients with care, patience, and attention to their specific needs
- Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the role
Compliance Responsibilities
- Verify customer age and identification on every visit, without exception, per company SOPs
- Follow all dispensing procedures and purchase limit requirements for adult-use customers and medical patients
- Handle products per company handling, packaging, and labeling SOPs
- Report any suspected ID misuse, diversion, or procedural concerns to the Manager on Duty immediately
- Complete all required training on time, including state-mandated Responsible Vendor Training
- Maintain customer privacy and confidentiality at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to obtain and maintain registration as a dispensary agent with the Maryland Cannabis Administration, including successful completion of a criminal background check
- Must complete state-mandated Responsible Vendor Training within sixty (60) days of hire and maintain annual renewal
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Customer service or retail experience preferred
- Genuine attention to detail — accuracy matters in every transaction, count, and record
- Positive, team-first attitude and willingness to be cross-trained across all store functions
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior cannabis, pharmacy, or other regulated retail experience
- Familiarity with POS systems (Dutchie a plus) Bilingual abilities a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to a full shift)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. regularly
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion
