Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise retail staff, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to foster a motivated team.
- Oversee daily store operations including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system management.
- Manage inventory levels through stock ordering, merchandising, stocking, and inventory control to ensure product availability.
- Assist in recruiting new team members by conducting interviews and employee orientation sessions.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining high satisfaction standards.
- Support sales management by implementing pricing strategies, promoting retail sales initiatives, and monitoring sales performance.
- Coordinate purchasing activities and manage store budgets to optimize operational efficiency while maintaining profitability.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail or grocery industry.
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated team management and supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable.
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and inventory management software.
- Knowledge of retail math including pricing strategies, sales analysis, budgeting, and operational metrics.
- Ability to perform basic math accurately and efficiently in fast-paced environments.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage time well.
- Experience with merchandising, stock replenishment, cashiering, and store operations management.
- Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation, phone etiquette, customer service excellence, and managerial communication.
- Familiarity with retail industry sales team management practices and supervising a retail sales team is preferred.
- Additional qualifications include training & development expertise, managerial experience in shift management, retail store product knowledge, inventory control techniques, and operational management capabilities.
