We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Part-Time Front Desk Receptionist to join our busy Podiatry practice. Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Verify patient insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and handle medical billing processes including collections and coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing medical scheduling software like Athenahealth or Dentrix, ensuring optimal clinic flow
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, direct calls appropriately, and manage appointment rescheduling or cancellations
- Maintain organized medical records, ensure documentation review for accuracy, and update patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing health information using office software like Microsoft Office and Eaglesoft
- Support clinical staff by preparing intake forms, reviewing care plans, and assisting with administrative support related to patient care
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical office setting or dental clinic experience preferred but not required; clinic experience is a plus
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and medical billing procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and health information management standards
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional phone manner and strong interpersonal communication abilities
- Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations
- Office experience involving clerical tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing multi-line phone systems
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in documentation review and insurance verification processes
