Adjunct Music Instructor- Percussion:
Role: Teaches percussion lessons and provides assistance and academic advising to percussion students outside of class. Teach other music courses as available.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- 55% Teaches private percussion lessons as assigned by departmental chair.
- 10% Uses appropriate technology for lesson communication.
- 10% Stays current in both the professional field and current teaching/learning best practices.
- 10% Works as a team member in the Fine Arts Department.
- 10% Contributes to department assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.
- 5% Complies with the faculty responsibilities as related in the Faculty Handbook and the Board Policy and Procedures Manual.
Performance Measurements:
- Demonstrates the Viking Values of balance, clarity, gratitude, service, teamwork, and trust.
- Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations relating to higher education.
- Ensures effective student services and high-quality customer service are provided
Qualifications:
- The position requires a Master's degree or higher in music from an accredited college or university.
- Must be able to meet face-to-face lessons on the Denison, TX campus during our sixteen-week term.
- Must have one to two years of related experience.
- Must have previous successful experience teaching voice in a high school, university and/or community college, and demonstrated ability to engage students in the learning process.
- A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact.
- Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature.
- Work may involve motivating or influencing others.
