Fluid / Receiving Lead - Nights

Description

Leads are expected to model behaviors that support continuous improvement across the organization. They are responsible for clearly communicating issues that may impact safety, quality, or operational efficiency within the department. This role contributes to overall productivity by supporting daily operations, stepping in where needed, and ensuring workflow continuity. Production Leads also play an active role in training and developing team members to maintain high performance standards.

Schedule: This is a newly added position. Scheudle will be set and include every-other weekend and holidays.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Lead by example, fostering a professional, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
• Ensure Food & Employee Safety - Uphold and enforce all food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., USDA, HACCP). Promote a culture of safety by training employees, identifying hazards, and working with leadership regarding corrective actions to prevent contamination and workplace incidents.
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot department equipment and processes to maintain safe and efficient operations
• Review, support, and assist with adjusting the daily production plan as needed to meet performance and efficiency targets.
• Establish and communicate throughput goals to optimize productivity and minimize downtime
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; escalate concerns when necessary
• Provide hands-on operational support during high-demand periods and assist with basic maintenance as needed
• Coordinate staffing needs, including providing coverage for absences and supporting overall workflow continuity
• Assist with training and development of team members to ensure competency and adherence to standards
• Conduct daily safety observations and quality checks, proactively addressing risks and deviations
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of production records, quality documentation, and process verification
• Verify product quality through in-process checks and finished product/loadout inspections
• Coordinate loadout activities with supervisors and operators; develop proficiency to support loadout processes as needed
• Provide backup support for supervisor responsibilities when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
