We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PT Weekend Registered Nurse specializing in Behavioral Health to join our multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate mental health status, physical health, and safety needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the treatment team, ensuring alignment with clinical goals.
- Administer medications accurately, including injections such as botulinum toxin treatments when applicable, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage acute behavioral episodes effectively.
- Document patient progress meticulously using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, medication management, and coping strategies.
- Assist with discharge planning by coordinating follow-up care and community resources to support ongoing recovery.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and safety standards across all clinical activities.
Experience
- Valid registered nurse licensure with current state certification.
- Prior experience in behavioral health settings, including inpatient psychiatric units or crisis stabilization programs.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications administration and monitoring, including IV infusion and injection techniques.
- Experience working within hospital environments or emergency room settings is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
