Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and residents’ preferences
- Plan menus that are nutritious, balanced, and appealing
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure food safety and sanitation standards are maintained
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs
- Ensure timely delivery of meals to residents and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to accommodate special dietary needs
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to uphold quality and safety standards
- Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements for seniors
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) preferred
- Flexibility to work full-time hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
