What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pet Groomer position at Grand Paws?
Bay Paws Pet Resort is growing and looking for a high performing Pet Groomer to add to our team. We are looking for experienced groomers that are ready to work in a professional environment with the latest equipment and full support to grow their business with uncapped earning potential.
We are preferably looking for Groomers with portable clients, who in turn would receive extra commission/compensation for the clients that they bring to our resort.
The Groomer must be personable and able to communicate with pet parents and will be expected to assist the Bay Paws Pet Resort Management and Customer Care Team grow the Canine Salon and Spa through marketing and/or pet parent communication.
This is a W-2 commission-based position.
The Groomer will provide exceptional, safe grooming services to the clients of Bay Paws Pet Resort, including but not limited to:
- Standard breed hair cutting services
- Nail trims / Dremel services
- Ear cleaning / Ear hair removal
- Anal gland expression
- Clipping / Cleaning of sanitary areas
- Standard bathing services
- Safe and gentle dematting
- Safe and gentle deshedding
- Advanced grooming techniques (preferred)
Job duties include:
- Adhere to Bay Paws Pet Resort exceptional customer service expectations
- Consult with the Pet Parent regarding their desired outcome and the pet's needs based on current coat condition
- Offer additional services (add-on treatments) to generate additional revenue opportunity based on pet's needs
- Communicate with Pet Parent upon service completion (temperament, rebooking, at home maintenance, retail recommendations, etc.)
- Support the Bay Paws Pet Resort referral program with each Pet Parent for all resort services
- Train Bathers
- Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness in the Canine Salon and Spa
- Promote healthy pet care
- Oversee inventory management
- Complete any additional requested tasks by management or ownership
- Adhere to Bay Paws Pet Resort employee dress code for Canine Designer position
Requirements:
- Certification from an Accredited Dog Grooming Academy (preferred)
- Minimum 2 Years Grooming Experience
- Portfolio of Completed Dog / Cat Grooms
- Awareness of Current Industry Trends
- Tools of the Trade (Clippers, Shears, Combs, Brushes, Dremel w/ Heads; Must be maintained regularly at own expense)
- Reliable Transportation
- Ability to read, count and write for needed documents and reporting
- Eligible to work in the United States
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to Stand or Walk 90% of time
- Ability to Lift 40 pounds unassisted
- Ability to control pets during relocation throughout the Pet Resort
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $40, $80,000.00 per year
