What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pool Lifeguard position at Grand Island CSD?
Anticipated Employment Date:
October 17, 2025 through February 13, 2026
Anticipated Work Location/Hours:
Grand Island High School Pool
Approx: 7:30 AM - 10:45 AM or 7:20 AM - 2:30 PM based on need and class schedules
Salary:
$25.00 / hr
Duties:
- Provide constant supervision of pool deck and water
- Enforce safety rules and ensure safety of students/staff during Aquatics classes
- Provide rescue readiness and be dressed accordingly
- Provide immediate First Aid / CPR when necessary
- Communicate with Physical Education staff
- Conduct pre-class safety checks
- Manage emergency procedures as necessary
- Maintain a professional presence by modeling alertness and attentiveness
- Document and report all incidents and safety concerns
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguarding Certification
- Current CPR/ASED for the Professional Rescuer Certification
