Job Description
Grand Industrial is seeking experienced Journeyman and Senior Millwrights with welding experience to join our growing industrial services team.
Our work includes industrial maintenance, equipment installation, machinery relocation, shutdowns, mechanical repairs, and construction projects throughout the region. We are looking for dependable, skilled professionals who take pride in producing quality work while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
Candidates must have established millwright experience and the ability to perform welding tasks supporting equipment installation, fabrication, and mechanical repairs. Additional experience in pipe fitting, ironworking, rigging, or other industrial trades is a plus.
What You'll Do
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial machinery and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose mechanical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Perform equipment installations, removals, machinery relocations, and precision alignment.
- Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and fabrication tasks to support equipment installations and repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, welding symbols, and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and conveyor systems.
- Install, inspect, and replace bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, couplings, and mechanical drives.
- Safely rig, lift, position, and set machinery using appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Support planned shutdowns, outages, and maintenance projects.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and industrial equipment.
- Work effectively alongside Project Managers, Foremen, and fellow craftsmen.
- Provide technical guidance to less-experienced crew members as appropriate to experience level.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company and customer safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and hot work requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Journeyman or Senior-level millwright experience required.
- Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial machinery.
- Hands-on welding experience required, with proficiency in one or more processes such as MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux Core.
- Ability to prepare materials, fit components, and produce welds that meet project specifications.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to complete assigned work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating effectively with the crew.
- Industrial maintenance or industrial construction experience.
- Experience in a steel mill or heavy industrial environment is a plus.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Willingness to travel and work overtime, weekends, or shutdown schedules as needed.
- For Senior-level candidates, the ability to handle complex mechanical work and provide technical direction to other crew members.

Requirements
- 18 years of age or older.
- Valid rivers license.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions when required.
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 55.0 per week
