About the student
- 8th grade student
- The student needs to work with a tutor primarily for math as well as English skills. The student has dyslexia and other minor learning differences.
- The student s an 8th grader attending University Prep. She has dyslexia and other minor learning differences. She is currently performing at or near grade level in both math and writing. She demonstrates a solid understanding of key concepts but would like to strengthen her skills and improve her overall grades as she prepares for the transition to high school.
- The goals are to deepen the student's understanding of pre-algebra/algebra concepts while improving accuracy and efficiency with multi-step problems in math, and at the same time strengthen her writing by improving organization, clarity, grammar, and vocabulary. She will also need to work on developing stronger analytical and critical thinking skills, building confidence with more advanced material, and improving overall academic performance in preparation for 9th grade.
- The family wants 1 .5 hour sessions 2 times a week during their available times. They are available Monday, Thursday, & Friday from 3:30pm-6pm as well as Saturday & Sunday from 10am-3pm. (The sessions will be divided into 1 hour for math and 1/2 an hour for English.)
- The family is seeking a tutor who can meet at their home in Bellevue next to the community of Lakemont near Deer Run Park.
Qualifications
- Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with middle school students.
- Ideal candidates will have prior experience working with students with special needs.
- Ideal candidates will have a valid teaching certificate.
- Ideal candidates will have experience teaching math and English skills.
- Willing to travel within your preferred local radius to meet the student (typically 5-10 miles)
- Due to insurance requirements, applicants must not be a minor.
Student Availability
MON & THUR & FRI: 3:30pm-6:00pm
SAT & SUN: 10:00am-3:00pm
Pay & Benefits
- $25.00-$32.00 per hour
