GPD is currently seeking a Contracts Manager for our Akron, OH office location to support the continued growth of our corporate legal term that services GPD clients in the Federal/Public space, Retail/Commercial, Power/Energy and Telecom. This role is critical to ensuring our operational leaders are supported, agreements are structured effectively, compliant with regulations, and fully aligned with business objectives.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field.
- 5-8 Years of Experience within a corporate legal environment servicing the full contract lifecycle and identifying and/or mitigating contractual risk for the company.
- Legal Proficiency in the Federal space: previous experience as a corporate legal professional servicing federal/government contracts not required, but a plus.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment and familiar with contracts concerning engineering and architecture clients.
- Collaborative Team Player: Ability to thrive in a team environment, collaborating with professionals across offices and disciplines throughout all project phases.
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with senior and executive leadership, supported by strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across internal departments, align stakeholders, and drive toward shared goals.
- Organizational and Communication Excellence: Must be organized and possess strong communication skills and professional writing skills, and the ability to multitask across multiple projects and priorities.
- Drafts, reviews and prepare complex contract requirements and documents as well as applicable state and federal laws.
- Possesses one or more areas of specialized knowledge with respect to contract types (e.g. Design, construction and professional services, cooperative agreements, and inter-agencies agreements etc.).
- Negotiates and interprets contract terms and modifications, which require communication with various levels of agency upper management/and or project team. Includes follow-up on pending documentation to the file to ensure timely completion of contracts.
- Maintains communication with stakeholders, internal clients, administration and executive staff concerning contract negotiations, process and status; includes follow-up on pending documentation to the file to ensure timely completion of contracts.
- Lead government contract activities, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements and internal policies. FAR/DFARS knowledge is not required, but a plus.
