VP Of Finance Position Summary

VP Of Finance Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the board and leadership team on financial planning, capital structure, and growth initiatives.
- Drive value creation initiatives in partnership with the private equity firm, including margin improvement, working capital optimization, and growth through M&A.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling aligned with company goals.
- Support M&A activity including financial due diligence and integration planning.
- Serve as the primary financial liaison between the Company and the private equity sponsor, ensuring timely, accurate and transparent communication of financial results, forecasts, and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare and deliver regular board and investor reports, including monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc updates on financial performance, KPIs, covenant compliance, and strategic initiatives.
- Support the board's value creation plan by providing actionable insights, scenario modeling, and recommendations for operational improvements, cost optimization, and growth initiatives. Accounting & Audit Readiness
- Transition the company from cash-based to accrual-based accounting in compliance with US GAAP.
- Select and manage external audit firm; oversee the Company's first financial audit.
- Establish internal controls and accounting policies to support audit readiness and financial integrity.
- Implement systems and processes to measure job progress, cost-to-complete, and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with project management and operations teams to align financial reporting with field performance.
- Improve visibility into margins, overhead allocation, and insurance claim cycles.
- Develop and report on operational KPIs and metrics
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Evaluate and implement a finance function capable of supporting rapid growth, complex transactions, and sophisticated reporting requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in construction, roofing, or related industries.
- Proven experience transitioning to accrual accounting and leading audits.
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
- Experience in high-growth environments, including M&A or private equity-backed companies, is a plus.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach.
