Responsibilities
- **Estimation:** Utilize your extensive knowledge and experience to accurately estimate material, labor, and equipment costs for commercial drywall projects.
- **Bid Preparation:** Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids based on project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents.
- **Cost Analysis:** Analyze project requirements and identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality standards.
- **Vendor and Subcontractor Management:** Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services. Negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms.
- **Project Coordination:** Work closely with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of estimates and bids.
- **Risk Assessment:** Identify and evaluate potential risks and uncertainties associated with projects, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- **Documentation:** Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, contracts, and other relevant documents.
- **Continuous Improvement:** Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to continuously improve estimating processes and methodologies.
- **Education:** Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- **Experience:** Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial drywall estimation.
- **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in estimating software such as Onscreen Takeoff/ QuickBid, Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
- **Analytical Skills:** Ability to analyze project requirements, interpret drawings and specifications, and accurately calculate material and labor costs.
- **Communication Skills:** Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with team members, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- **Attention to Detail:** Keen attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and bidding processes.
- **Negotiation Skills:** Strong negotiation skills to obtain competitive pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- **Organizational Skills:** Effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
