Labor & Employment Law Attorney Position Overview

A well-respected and growing California law firm is actively seeking a skilled Labor & Employment Attorney with a minimum of 1 years of litigation experience to join its dynamic legal team. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to handle a broad spectrum of employment law matters-including counseling, litigation, and compliance work-on behalf of a diverse client base that includes employers across multiple industries.

About The Role

As part of the firm's Labor & Employment group, you will:

  • Represent employers in individual, class, and collective action litigation involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, and breach of employment contracts.
  • Handle litigation in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, DOL, and NLRB.
  • Assist with employment counseling, including drafting employee handbooks, developing personnel policies, and providing day-to-day compliance advice on issues such as FMLA, ADA, and wage/hour regulations.
  • Conduct internal workplace investigations, deliver compliance training, and participate in labor relations work such as union avoidance and grievance handling.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and settlement agreements, and prepare for and attend depositions, mediations, and court appearances.

Ideal Candidate

  • JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (California)
  • Minimum of 1-15 years of experience in any litigation practice
  • Experience with wage and hour class actions, FLSA and state law claims, and employment counseling.
  • Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, client-focused team.
