What are the responsibilities and job description for the Math Interventionist position at Gorham Middle School?
MS Math Interventionist
The Math Interventionist supports students who are struggling in math and works to help them reach grade level. This is both a push-in and pull-out role. The interventionist works alongside classroom teachers within math classes to provide targeted support, and also pulls small groups to work more closely with students who need it.
Responsibilities
•Support students struggling in math through push-in instruction within math classrooms
•Pull small groups to provide focused, targeted intervention
•Partner with classroom teachers to deliver support and help tier instruction to meet student needs
•Participate in quarterly MTSS meetings with teams to review progress monitoring data and discuss student growth
•Use data to identify needs, set goals, and track progress over time
Qualifications
•Maine teaching certification with an appropriate endorsement, or eligibility to obtain one
•Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics and common areas where students struggle
•Experience using data to guide instruction
•A collaborative approach and the ability to work well as part of a team
Salary range: $48,759 - $103,126
