Hebrew Elementary Teacher
Gordon Day School, located in Miami, FL (Brickell area), is seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time Hebrew Teacher to inspire and engage students from Kindergarten through 5th grade. This is a yearly position.
The ideal candidate will foster a love for the Hebrew language and Jewish culture and traditions while supporting students with varying levels of Hebrew proficiency. This role focuses on developing students’ language skills through engaging, interactive, and developmentally appropriate instruction within a nurturing and inclusive environment, in collaboration with School Directors.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hebrew Studies, Jewish Studies, Education, or a related field (preferred)
- Strong proficiency in modern Hebrew (spoken and written)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and families
- Passion for modern Hebrew language instruction and Jewish education
Functions
- Help to plan, develop, and fully implement a modern Hebrew language curriculum aligned with school learning goals
- Create and deliver lesson plans for multiple grade levels that are developmentally appropriate
- Lead engaging classes through conversation, interactive activities, music, and storytelling
- Support students in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in modern Hebrew
- Assess student progress with attention to individual learning styles and needs
- Maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and colleagues
- Support the philosophy and vision of the Gordon School and the Center for Jewish Life at Beth David
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver modern Hebrew lessons aligned with curriculum standards and school values
- Teach vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural and religious understanding in meaningful and engaging ways
- Encourage active language use through immersive and interactive experiences
- Assess and evaluate student progress through a variety of methods, including assignments, projects, and informal assessments
- Provide constructive feedback and maintain ongoing communication with families regarding student growth
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for all learners
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varied abilities and learning styles
- Stay current with best practices in language instruction and educational technology
- Participate in school-wide events, performances, and Jewish cultural and religious celebrations
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress
Schedule
This is a full-time, yearly position. Standard hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with early release at 3:00 PM on Friday. Flexibility required for some early arrival, extended hours, and occasional weekends for special events.
Compensation
Salary Range: $50,000 – $62,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
