Key Responsibilities
Department Leadership
- Establish and lead a new Civil Engineering department
- Recruit, mentor, and develop engineering and technical staff
- Define workflows, technical standards, and QA/QC processes
- Promote a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture
- Oversee civil engineering projects from initial planning through construction
- Manage schedules, budgets, and staff resources to ensure successful delivery
- Serve as Engineer of Record on applicable projects
- Lead and review design work including site development, grading, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure
- Utilize AutoCAD / Civil 3D for design and plan production
- Build and strengthen long-term client relationships
- Participate in proposal development, client meetings, and networking efforts
- Support business growth initiatives and repeat work opportunities
- Manage daily engineering operations for the Boise office
- Collaborate with survey, planning, and construction partners
- Contribute to operational planning, performance goals, and long-term strategy
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Idaho
- 10 years of civil engineering design experience in Idaho
- Strong understanding of local codes, standards, and permitting processes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Prior experience leading or managing civil engineering teams
- Proven ability to manage projects, people, and priorities effectively
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Background in land development and site civil projects
- Experience working within or alongside a surveying or multidisciplinary firm
- Previous involvement in department or office build-outs
- Established relationships within the Idaho engineering or development community
