Our client, a well-established meat processing and food manufacturing operation, is seeking an FSQA Manager to lead the Food Safety and Quality Assurance function within a USDA-regulated manufacturing facility. - Lead all food safety and quality assurance programs for a USDA-regulated meat processing facility
- Manage and develop FSQA Supervisors, Technicians, and Quality team members
- Ensure compliance with USDA-FSIS regulations, HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SQF, BRC, and customer requirements
- Maintain audit readiness and lead USDA, customer, and third-party audits
- Investigate quality, food safety, and regulatory issues and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Oversee environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, product holds, and release programs
- Analyze quality and food safety metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, and Engineering teams to resolve production and quality-related challenges
- Lead food safety training programs and foster a strong food safety culture throughout the facility
- Ensure accurate documentation, recordkeeping, and regulatory compliance across all manufacturing areas
- 8 years of food manufacturing experience, preferably within meat or protein processing
- Strong USDA-FSIS, HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems experience
- 5 years of leadership experience managing FSQA teams in a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading customer, regulatory, and third-party audits
- Strong root cause analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Meat Science, Microbiology, or related field
- SQF Practitioner, HACCP Certification, PCQI, or similar food safety credentials
- Experience with BRC, SQF, or GFSI-certified facilities
- Previous Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience
