Executive Director – Multi-Campus Long-Term Care (Wisconsin)Role OverviewThe Executive Director provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across multiple long-term care campuses within a county-operated system. This role oversees a diverse continuum of care, including:Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)State-only skilled nursing bedsCommunity-Based Residential Facilities (CBRF)Residential Care Apartment Complexes (RCAC)Adult Family Homes (AFH)Independent and assisted living residencesThe Executive Director ensures high-quality, person-centered care while maintaining regulatory excellence, financial sustainability, and workforce stability across all programs.Executive Director - Key ResponsibilitiesProvide executive leadership for clinical, residential, and operational functions across multiple facilitiesDevelop, implement, and evaluate strategic initiatives and operational plansOversee multi-facility operating and capital budgets, staffing models, and resource allocationEnsure full regulatory compliance and serve as the primary liaison with oversight agenciesLead risk management programs including audits, investigations, quality initiatives, and emergency preparednessInterpret and negotiate contracts in collaboration with legal counselBuild trusted relationships with residents, families, government departments, health systems, advocacy organizations, and community partnersRepresent the organization in local, regional, and statewide initiativesLead recruitment, retention, and workforce development strategiesChampion diversity, equity, and inclusion in service delivery and staff managementOversee capital projects, expansions, renovations, and new facility openingsParticipate in system-wide initiatives and integrated care projectsProvide steady, decisive leadership during crisis situations to ensure operational continuityExecutive Director - Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local long-term care regulations and licensure requirementsProven financial management and budget oversight experienceDemonstrated success leading multi-site healthcare or long-term care operationsStrategic planning and execution expertiseExcellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skillsEffective crisis management and problem-solving capabilitiesProficiency with electronic health records, budgeting systems, and related technologiesCommitment to inclusive, respectful, and team-oriented work environmentsExecutive Director - QualificationsBachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, public administration, business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)Minimum of five years of senior leadership experience in healthcare or long-term care, including multi-site oversightLicensed Nursing Home Administrator or eligibility to obtain licensure within six months of hireEligibility or certification in CBRF administration strongly preferredPrior experience in public-sector or county-operated systems preferredAbility to travel between facilities and respond to after-hours or emergency needsSuccessful completion of state-mandated background requirementsExecutive Director - Benefits & CompensationGenerous compensationHighly rated pension through the state retirement systemAffordable medical, dental, and vision insurance optionsGenerous paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidaysFlexible scheduling and wellness programs supporting work-life balance
