Automation Controls Engineer Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering field (preferred)
• Minimum 4 years of experience in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley and Siemens)
• Proven background in factory automation, servo systems, and robotic integration
• Experience configuring and tuning VFDs, servos, and motion control components
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
• Ability to write, modify, and optimize PLC, HMI, and robotic code for new and existing systems
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting machine vision applications
• Willingness to travel 10–30% for installations, commissioning, and on-site support
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
• U.S. citizenship required
  
  

Automation Controls Engineer Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience with robotic systems such as Fanuc, ABB, or KUKA
• Familiarity with PC-based control systems and industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet)
• Exposure to data acquisition, SCADA, or MES systems
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• Experience supporting machine installations, testing, and validations in manufacturing environments
