Specialty Coffee Barista - Part Time (10-18 Hours)

Job Type: Part-Time

Shift Schedule: Some Weekdays, and Full Weekends

Position Summary and Purpose:

We are seeking a part-time barista for 10-18 hours a week, and ability to consistently work Thursday-Saturday. The ideal applicant will be:

• Friendly,
• Able to work well within a small team,
• have 1-2 year of specialty coffee experience (Required)
• possess a food handler’s card or be able to acquire one within 7 days of being hired,
• Calm under pressure

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cash handling at point of sale
• Food prep of pastries from our local vendor, Crema
• Food prep of our in-house sandwich and bagel offerings
• Assembling and crafting of espresso and non-espresso beverages to Goodfellow’s Coffee standards
• Working within a small team to provide excellent customer service, craft delicious drinks and food, and learn each day
• Providing customer service centered around being welcoming and willing to provide a memorable visit
• Cleaning of customer areas and staff areas
• Adhering to set forth policies on employee conduct, presentation, hygiene
• Completing assigned side work encompassing shop level cleanliness and preparation of in-house syrups and sauces

• Understanding of how to operate grinders and espresso machines
• Understanding of the basics of extraction as it relates to grind size, tasting of coffee/espresso, and meeting set standards

Required Qualifications:

• 1-2 Year of Specialty Coffee Experience
• Must be 18 years or older
• Willingness to work mornings and afternoons, and regular weekend shifts
• 6 month commitment to maintaining current availability
