Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Food Server to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage service. This role involves engaging with guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring a memorable visit for all patrons. Prior experience in fine dining or the food industry is preferred, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable. A strong focus on food safety, sanitation, and guest relations is essential to succeed in this position.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive customer service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems like Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining presentation standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed at all times
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and resetting tables for new guests
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and wine or beverage pairings to assist guests effectively
- Provide guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns professionally
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests courteously and professionally
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods
- Basic math skills for order entry and cash handling accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights; weekend availability is often required
- Experience in upselling menu items to maximize sales opportunities
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
