Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Floor Manager to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced dining environment. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring efficient restaurant operations across casual dining, quick service, or fine dining settings. The Restaurant Floor Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive team environment while upholding the restaurant's standards of quality and service excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant activities to ensure smooth operations during shifts
- Lead, train, and develop staff members in food preparation, customer service, and safety protocols
- Oversee food handling, preparation, and presentation to meet quality standards
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Monitor inventory levels, control stock, and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Oversee shift management including scheduling staff shifts to meet operational needs
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and optimizing restaurant profitability
- Collaborate with kitchen management on food production, menu execution, and catering services
- Conduct staff interviews, training sessions, and performance evaluations to foster team development
- Maintain a welcoming environment that promotes hospitality and guest engagement
Qualifications
- Proven experience in restaurant management or food service leadership roles such as Assistant Manager or Supervisor
- Extensive knowledge of food industry practices including food safety, handling, and culinary operations
- Familiarity with POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management, training & development, and supervising staff
- Background in managing kitchen operations or kitchen management is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally
- Experience working in various restaurant settings such as casual dining, fine dining, quick service & fast food restaurants, or catering environments
- Ability to manage inventory control and food production processes effectively
- Leadership qualities with a focus on hospitality management and operational excellence
- Prior experience in budgeting, cost control, and food service management is preferred
