Program Overview:
Before the CNA class begins, participants will be hired as Resident Assistant (Per Diem)
During this time, you'll become familiar with our residents, staff, and daily operations while preparing for CNA training.
The CNA program includes:
- Approximately 4–5 weeks of classroom and clinical instruction
- Training that meets New York State Prometric certification requirements
- Preparation to successfully complete the New York State CNA Certification Exam
Upon successful completion, graduates may be offered Full-Time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) positions at Chase Memorial Nursing Home & Rehab.
What You'll Do as a Resident Assistant:
Before becoming a CNA, you'll help support our nursing team by:
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
- Assisting with unit organization and stocking supplies
- Supporting residents through non-direct care tasks
- Helping the nursing team provide exceptional resident care
- Learning valuable skills that prepare you for your CNA career
This position does not include hands-on resident care while you are training.
