What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Manager position at Good Catch Thai Urban Bistro?
Good Catch is hiring a Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations and help our team deliver warm, attentive Thai hospitality in the Central Business District. Our restaurant brings together Thai comfort food, seafood specialties, and cocktails in a welcoming setting.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the details, makes thoughtful decisions under pressure, and follows through on commitments. You should be comfortable leading service, addressing problems directly and respectfully, and keeping the owners informed. This is a hands-on management role with responsibility for both the guest experience and the systems that keep the restaurant running.
What you will do:
- Lead daily service and coordinate front-of-house operations with Chef Aom and the kitchen team.
- Set clear expectations, delegate effectively, and follow up so responsibilities are completed.
- Help recruit, onboard, train, and coach staff; prepare schedules and address coverage needs.
- Handle guest concerns with care, good judgment, and appropriate follow-through.
- Keep timekeeping, tip-outs, cash-outs, and shift reports accurate; investigate discrepancies and communicate them promptly.
- Coordinate purchasing, vendors, supplies, and maintenance within approved budgets and procedures.
- Uphold safety, cleanliness, and company standards; keep useful records and communicate concerns, decisions, and unfinished work to the owners.
What you bring:
- At least 2 years of management and supervisory experience in a related industry, including direct responsibility for supervising staff. Restaurant experience is preferred; relevant hospitality or other service-industry management experience will also be considered.
- Experience setting expectations, giving constructive feedback, resolving conflict, and holding people accountable fairly.
- Sound judgment about what to resolve independently and when to involve the owners or Chef Aom.
- Strong organization, accurate recordkeeping, and clear communication with staff, guests, and owners.
- Willingness to learn our menu, service standards, and operating systems. Kitchen experience is not required.
This is an on-site role. Evening and weekend work is required.
How we work:
We value respectful communication, teamwork, and continuous learning. Our manager helps set the tone: listen to people who know the work, make clear decisions, explain expectations, and address concerns without blame or favoritism. Staff should feel able to raise a problem early, and everyone should understand their responsibility for solving it. We expect the manager to welcome feedback and model the standards they ask others to meet.
What we offer:
We offer a free staff meal per shift, a generous 401(k) plan with employer matching, professional leadership coaching from a certified professional coach, and holiday benefits. Benefit details and eligibility will be discussed in the interview.
