Electrical Preconstruction Director Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electrical preconstruction and estimating function for large-scale data center projects nationwide.
- Develop conceptual estimates, budgets, and detailed bid proposals for complex electrical systems including power distribution, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with owners, general contractors, engineers, and design teams during the early planning and design phases to optimize cost, constructability, and scheduling.
- Establish and implement preconstruction strategies, processes, and best practices to improve accuracy, efficiency, and competitiveness.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to identify value engineering opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to estimating and preconstruction teams.
- Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, proposal presentations, and strategic pursuits.
- Work closely with operations teams to ensure a seamless transition from preconstruction to project execution.
- 7 years of electrical construction experience, with significant involvement in estimating or preconstruction leadership.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale data center or mission-critical construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, generators, UPS systems, switchgear, and related infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead and develop estimating or preconstruction teams within a commercial or industrial electrical contractor environment.
- Expertise in conceptual estimating, budgeting, cost analysis, and bid strategy.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with clients, engineers, and internal teams.
