About the Company
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Golf Professional to join our golf operations team in a 6-month seasonal role. This position plays an integral role in delivering an exceptional member experience while supporting all aspects of daily golf operations. The ideal candidate will possess the experience, professionalism, and leadership potential to progress into a Senior Assistant Golf Professional role within 1–3 years.
About the Role
The Assistant Golf Professional supports the management of daily golf operations, including play management, staff supervision, merchandising, tournaments, instruction, and junior golf programming. This role serves as an active ambassador of the club's golf culture and is expected to engage with members regularly, including playing golf with member groups.
Responsibilities
Golf Operations & Member Experience
- Assist with managing and tracking daily play, golfer check-in, and fee collection
- Assist with opening and closing procedures for golf operations
- Coordinate golf activities with other club departments
- Actively engage with members and guests to ensure a high-level golf experience
- Play golf with members in both competitive and non-competitive settings
Tournaments & Events
- Assist the Senior Assistant Golf Professional with men's, women's, and junior events
- Support all aspects of tournament execution, including planning, promotion, course setup, scoring, billing, prize distribution, and follow-up
Junior Golf Programming
- Serve as Junior Golf Coordinator (as assigned)
- Plan, develop, organize, and execute the Junior Golf Program
- Create an instructional curriculum focused on fundamentals, rules, etiquette, and life skills
- Promote programs, manage scheduling, and lead instruction
- Assist with the hiring, training, evaluation, and supervision of junior golf staff
- Track junior golfer development and communicate effectively with parents
Instruction & Player Development
- Conduct individual lessons and group clinics, including women's clinics and junior camps
- Provide professional instruction aligned with club standards
Golf Shop & Merchandising
- Assist the Golf Shop Manager with merchandise operations
- Support inventory control, ordering, receiving, displays, and sales of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing golf shop
Outside Operations & Services
- Assist with supervising and training outside services staff
- Ensure the highest levels of customer service and operational efficiency
Club Services & Systems
- Provide club fitting and club repair services
- Maintain the club's USGA Handicap System accurately and on a timely basis
Qualifications
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude at all times. Serve as a positive representative of the club both on and off the golf course.
Required Skills
- Experience in golf operations, strong communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional member experiences.
Preferred Skills
- Leadership potential and experience in tournament management.
