What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Assistant position at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare?
The HIM Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the Health Information Management department. The HIM Assistant is responsible for answering phones, scanning and indexing, and responding to faxes on the fax machine. This position also assists patients with obtaining their medical records and performing basic release of information functions. The applicant should possess great customer service and communication skills and be a great self-starter. Performs other duties or assignments as departmental or organizational needs require. This individual will report to the Director of Health Informatics & Payer Strategy.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
One to three years' experience desired.
